Who is Dr Melanie Rapoport

From a young age, Dr. Melanie Rapoport (aka. Doctor Mel) has had a special interest in the human body and understanding how it responds to different environments and stresses. These interests led her to first complete her Bachelor of Science degree in Behavioral Neuroscience at the University of British Columbia in 2007. She continued her education and graduated with high honours from the University of Western States in Portland, Oregon, where she obtained her Doctorate of Chiropractic in 2010.

Doctor Mel believes that all humans are physically active beings who need to be able to move properly, without restrictions or pain, to endure all of life’s activities. Her focus is on enhancing the daily physical performance of each of her patients while minimizing stress and injury to the body. Doctor Mel has extensive experience treating people from all walks of life, including those who work in an office or sit for several hours a day, car accident and personal injury cases, tradesmen, recreational and high level athletes, seniors, pre and postpartum women, and families.

Doctor Mel is up to date on the latest research and treatments in her field. Throughout her years of clinical experience, it continues to be clearly evident to her how important it is to address the soft tissues, in combination chiropractic manipulation and rehabilitation exercises, to obtain optimal results that are long-lasting. Doctor Mel utilizes innovative soft tissue therapies, including Active Release Techniques® and Graston Technique®, and is highly skilled in the application of Cold Laser Therapy (aka. low level light therapy, photobiomodulation, etc.), and other modalities for tissue healing.

In 2013, Doctor Mel founded Solaj Laser & Wellness Clinic, a Chiropractic and Cold Laser Therapy clinic in South Surrey. Over the span of four years, she and her team treated hundreds of individuals suffering from arthritis, chronic pain, and several hard-to-treat joint and muscle injuries or conditions. In August of 2017, Doctor Mel transitioned onto a new path, and is filling a critical need in the Chiropractic community of helping her fellow colleagues maintain their practices while they are absent, for any reason, with the ultimate goal of continuing a high level of patient care. We are fortunate to have to join our team at Clayton Heights Chiropractic in August 2022.

And if she’s not in the clinic, you’ll find her practicing what she preaches – running the trails in her neighborhood, paddling on the water in the summer, and skiing in the snow in the winter!
